Maruti Suzuki's Creta EV Rival Takes Shape, Final Lighting Design Revealed In Latest Images

Hyundai isn't the only major automaker to be working on new electric vehicles as Maruti Suzuki's eVX SUV is inching closer to reality. The eVX is said to be a direct competitor to the models such as the Hyundai Creta EV and the Tata Nexon EV in India. It has been spotted on tests once again, revealing new details.

Maruti Suzuki, India's leading car manufacturer, is steadily progressing towards the launch of its first electric vehicle, the eVX SUV. The concept model of the same nameplate was also displayed to the public at the Auto Expo 2023. Currently undergoing extensive testing, the eVX has recently been spotted with finalized production-spec lighting elements.
Prior test mules utilized temporary projector headlights and halogen tail lights. These new spy shots reveal a significant step forward, showcasing permanent LED headlights and taillights. The design closely resembles the concept eVX unveiled in January 2023, adhering to the brand's vision for the vehicle.

The finalized headlights integrate LED projectors with a distinctive LED DRL signature that appears to "float" above and below the projector unit. This DRL design complements the overall fascia, which incorporates an X-shaped motif. Similarly, the finalized LED taillights mirror the concept design, with a potential light bar connecting the top and bottom elements.
While the new test mules don't reveal any groundbreaking changes beyond the lighting, speculations suggest a potential dual-motor AWD variant alongside the base single-motor FWD configuration. Both powertrain options are expected to utilize a 60 kWh battery pack, offering a targeted range of approximately 500 kilometers on a single charge.
Previous glimpses of the eVX interior hinted at premium features such as a floating center console, a large infotainment screen, a 360-degree camera system, and a charging port located on the front-left quarter panel.
The anticipated launch in 2025 is expected to position India as a key market for production and distribution of this electric vehicle. In India, it will lock horns with the rivals such as Tata Nexon EV, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.
