Bengaluru: The weather in the Garden City has been “Bangalooring” as it is as pleasant as it is known for. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a week-long rainfall in Bengaluru; however, no alert has been issued, which means Bengaluru is set to experience a good and safe amount of showers.
After yesterday’s day-long downpour, the city was graced with a serene view of a rainbow, which many users on X shared posts about. One user shared, “Captured rainbow across the western horizon this evening,” while many others expressed the same sentiment of mesmerisation.

‘India’s Silicon Valley’ is set to experience mild weather over the next week to ten days. The city will see very light rainfall, with some days remaining completely dry. Despite the lack of heavy rain, the sky will be mostly cloudy, providing a pleasant atmosphere for the city and its suburbs.
For the past week, Bengaluru has only received light showers, recording single-digit rainfall over 24-hour periods. This comes after a period of very heavy rainfall and stormy conditions on June 2nd. The city has already surpassed its monthly rainfall average, accumulating 152.5mm against the usual 110.3mm for June, according to a Skymet weather report. Over the next 7-10 days, Bengaluru is expected to receive only 10-15mm of rainfall.

No significant weather systems are expected over the South Peninsula next week, leading to weak weather activity across the region, particularly in South Interior Karnataka. For Bengaluru, scattered light showers are forecast for June 16th, 17th, and 20th. On other days, the sky will remain cloudy with low and medium clouds, preventing any significant rise in temperature.
During this period, the maximum temperature is expected to stay below 30 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will be in a comfortable range of 20-22 degrees Celsius.
Overall, residents of Bengaluru can look forward to pleasant weather with light showers and cooler temperatures in the coming days.

Heavy Rains Cause Traffic Chaos on Outer Ring Road

Bengaluru's tech hub along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) faced major traffic chaos on Thursday evening. Heavy rains started in the late afternoon, leading to gridlock in areas like Mahadevpura, Bagmane Tech Park, and RMZ EcoWorld.
Commuters experienced hours of delays, stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic, according to a news report. Many expressed frustration with the authorities for not addressing Bengaluru's ongoing traffic problems.
The rain affected several parts of the city, including Shantinagar, Pantry Road, Shivaji Nagar, Tasker Town, Banaswadi, Bowring Hospital Road, Gottigere, Jayanagar, Malleswaram, Yeshvantpur, Jalahalli, Rajajinagar, Sunkadakatte, Tavarekere, Kottige Palya, Kamakshi Palya, Wilson Garden, Basavanagudi, Lal Bagh, Vijayanagar, Outer Ring Road, and Mahadevpura.
Unlike previous days when the rain began in the evening, this time it started earlier, catching many motorists off guard and causing significant road difficulties.
