Bengaluru: In a developing story surrounding a recent murder in Bengaluru, shocking details have emerged from a diary recovered from the deceased accused, Mukthirajan. The diary, currently held by Odisha police, will soon be handed over to Karnataka police for further investigation.
Sources confirm the diary's contents which suggests that Mukthirajan confessed to killing the victim, claiming that the two were in a relationship.
He alleged that she repeatedly pressured him to marry her, which led to frequent arguments between them. Notably, the woman was already married, while Mukthirajan was single. Sources also reported that she attempted to visit his room and instigated disturbances at their workplace, worsening their conflicts.
In the days leading up to his death, three teams from Bengaluru police pursued Mukthirajan after tracing him to West Bengal, where his last known location was reported. However, he turned off his phone, only to reactivate it briefly in Odisha before switching it off again. During this time, he managed to contact his family multiple times using different phone numbers.
Accused’s Mother Reaction
Mukthirajan's mother spoke to ANI, expressing her son's distress: “He said he had fallen prey to that woman's trap. She kept asking for money from him. I asked him why he didn't flee from there (Bengaluru) by resigning from his job. He did this due to fear as the woman kept demanding money from him.”Initial investigations indicate that Mukthirajan returned to his village on Tuesday but left home shortly after arriving.Superintendent of Police Odisha, Varun Guntupalli, confirmed that a team from Bengaluru police was dispatched to arrest him; however, he died by suicide before they could reach him. After a post-mortem examination, his body was returned to his family.
