Placements 2022-23: One of the premier higher education institutions in the country, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, recently released a report highlighting the results of the 2022-23 placement season. The report highlighted the top recruiters as well as the highest packages.
According to the report, as many as 2,000 students participated in the placements. Of these, companies from various sectors, including IT and software, finance, R&D services, analytics, consulting, and data science, made offers to 1,500 people. The companies from the engineering
and tech sector were responsible for a large chunk- around 30 per cent- of the overall recruitment at IIT Bombay.
The engineering and tech sector drafted the highest number of students from IIT Bombay. Almost 458 students were offered jobs in 97 engineering companies at entry-level positions.
The top recruiters for this placement season were as follows:
- TSMC (core chip manufacturing)
- Adani Green Energy
- Reliance Industries
- Tata Group
International offersAccording to the report, as many as 65 international offers were made to IIT Bombay students. These roles were based in the USA, UK, Netherlands, Taiwan, as well as Hong Kong.
As many as 16 offers with a package of above Rs 1 crore were accepted.
The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-Bombay), in its official release, said that a student was placed internationally with a record job offer. The highest international salary was pegged at Rs 3.67 crore. On the other hand, the highest domestic salary was Rs 1.68 crore.
The average salary package of selected students stood at Rs 21.82 lakh a year.
