New Delhi: Once a vehicle is purchased, its original registration certificate remains valid for 15 years. Following the expiry of the registration certificate, it must be renewed within the stipulated period at an RTO. The renewed registration certificate is valid for an additional 5 years. According to the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, private vehicles must undergo re-registration every 15 years, followed by renewal every 5 years thereafter, as long as the vehicle remains roadworthy per the department's assessment. To renew driving licenses (DLs), individuals can visit parivahan.gov.in, navigate to "driving licence-related services," select "DL services," enter their DL number and other details, upload necessary documents, and make a payment to book a slot for a visit to the nearest RTO.
Guidelines:
Submit Form 25 for the renewal of the registration certificate to the Registering Authority within the vehicle's jurisdiction, not exceeding 60 days before its expiration date.
Ensure any applicable vehicle taxes are paid.
Pay the appropriate fee as outlined in Rule 81 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules 1989.

? Pollution under control certificate.
? R.C. Book.
? Fitness certificate.
? Certificate of registration.
? Proof of the payment of up-to-date road tax paid.
? Insurance certificate.
? Copy of PAN card or Form 60 & Form 61 (as applicable).
? Chassis & Engine Pencil Print.
? Signature Identification of owner.
Steps To Renew Your Vehicle Registration Certificate:
Step 1: The vehicle owner should acquire Form 25, complete the necessary information, and submit it to the RTO within their jurisdiction.
Step 2: Alongside the application form, the vehicle owner must provide the requisite supporting documents.
Step 3: The vehicle must be presented at the RTO for inspection.
Step 4: Any outstanding taxes must be settled promptly by the vehicle owner.
Step 5: The vehicle owner is required to pay the re-registration fee at the RTO, under Rule 81 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
Step 6: Upon verification of the submitted documents and inspection of the vehicle, a new registration certificate will be issued to the vehicle owner.
