JP Dalal, the Haryana Minister of Finance & Town and Country Planning and Estates, has emphasised the need for reduced government interference in the state's real estate sector at the ETNOW.in Realty Conclave and Awards event. The minister also highlighted the pivotal role played by real estate in India's overall development.
Dalal mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for India to become a developed nation by 2047, stressing the importance of synchronized efforts by the government and citizens. He emphasised the necessity of providing essential infrastructure, quality housing, and smart cities to achieve this ambitious goal.
"I think Real Estate has played an important role in the overall development of India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken an oath that by 2047, India will be a developed country," Minister Dalal said.
To facilitate smoother operations in the real estate sector, Dalal outlined measures undertaken by the Haryana government. These include the division of development authorities to streamline approval processes at the local level, ensuring minimal government intervention. The time-bound approvals have been implemented to enhance the ease of doing business within the state.
Acknowledging challenges such as land pricing and aggregation, Dalal shared the government's strategies to address them. "We have divided various development authorities so that common people can obtain approvals at the local level with less government interference. We have even implemented time-bound approvals for ease of doing business in the state of Haryana," he added.
The first-of-its-kind ceremony brought together major stakeholders from India's real estate industry. The event began with a welcome address by Times Network Digital President and COO Rohit Chadda, followed by the Lamp Lighting ceremony. Distinguished guests included G Hari Babu, President of NAREDCO, JP Dalal, Minister of Haryana, Harsh Vardhan Bansal, President of NAREDCO Delhi, and Anand Kumar, Chairman of Delhi RERA.
