Ghaziabad: A female YouTuber was arrested allegedly for ‘teaching’ viewers how to sexually assault infants. The woman claiming to be a gamer, shared a video on her YouTube channel where she was seen giving tips on how to physically assault a newborn baby. The woman hailed from Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad. The offensive video triggered anger among netizens who called for an immediate action. A police official said the woman was arrested for instigating people for child abuse.
In one of the videos she shared on YouTube, the woman was purportedly “advising” viewers on how to exploit newborn babies sexually, the police said. The video went viral on social media platforms, attracting severe criticism to the comments she made in her video.
The video was shared multiple times on social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), gaining attention of the police officials. "We have arrested one who made a video on her YouTube channel 'Kunwari Begum', on which she was giving tips on sexually assaulting kids," Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Swatantra Kumar Singh said, quoted by PTI.
The police action came after National Commission for Women chairman Rekha Sharma took cognisance of the offending video on X. She highlighted the matter to National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) chairperson Priyank Kanoongo, asking him to arrest the woman immediately.
She wrote, “It's horrible. Shameless woman should be arrested immediately. @KanoongoPriyank pl make sure she gets maximum punishment.” A probe has been launched in the matter, and the police are investigating further to know Maitreya's intentions behind what she said on her YouTube channel, the ACP added.
