Gurugram: A shocking CCTV footage from a Gurugram society has surfaced, revealing a dog walker repeatedly hitting a pet golden retriever inside an elevator. The incident occurred on May 9 at the Orchid Gardens Society in Sector 54.
As per an India Today report, although the dog owner has not lodged a formal police complaint, he removed the dog walker from service after the video went viral.
The footage, originally shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user Vidit Sharma, depicts the dog walker inside an elevator with the pet golden retriever. The person is seen repeatedly hitting the dog's face and mouth with a litter scoop. Moreover, he resorts to using his hands to hit the dog on its head before progressing to forcefully trap the dog's face with the scoop.

In a recent incident, a dog was mutilated and thrown off a 15th-floor residential building, according to the Noida Police, after an FIR was lodged against an unidentified person. The police said that the incident took place at Ajnara Homes in Sector 16B under the Bisrakh Police Station area of Noida Extension and was reported. Society resident Keerti Verma filed a complaint about this act of animal brutality, and the police lodged an FIR based on her statement. "According to the complaint, the mutilated body of the female dog was found near a residential tower. The dog was thrown from the 15th floor of the tower," an officer said.
Keerti claimed that it is impossible for a dog to just slip through the grilles. According to her, the dog was thrown off Tower O and was possibly done by one of the members of AOA who provoked people against stray dogs who are living inside the premises.
