Gurugram: A road accident in the city has yet again sparked the road safety rules after a 23-year-old man, Akshta Garg died on the spot and the entire clash was recorded in a camera. He was riding a bike and his two friends were behind him with the rider wearing a pro-cam. Akshat took a slight turn when an SUV coming from the wrong direction hit the two-wheeler killing him on the spot.
His friends stopped and tried to wake him up but to no avail. The SUV with a "BJP sticker" was being driven in the wrong direction and after the incident, the driver was arrested. However, the accused was later on bail as the offence is bailable under Motor Vehicle Act. The incident took place on Golf Course Road near Belvedere Park, DLF Phase II and the vehicle, registered in the name of Gaurav Gautam - BJP candidate from Palwal, was driven by a social media manager, identified as Kuldeep Kumar Thakur, police officials said.

Speaking to Times Now, the deceased's mother said Akshta was the only bread earner of the family. His father has retired and Akshta was also paying for the schooling of his 9-year-old sister.
Lekha Garg, the victim's mother, said the family is in shock to see how the accused got bail even after killing their son.
"My only demand is to get justice for my child...Why that criminal got bail? He is sleeping peacefully and my child is gone from this world forever," she said, while pleading for justice for her son.
"Why is the police not helping us?" she further asked.

What Police Said on Accident

Speaking to ANI, ACP DLF Gurugram Vikas Kaushik said, "This incident happened last Sunday, the deceased was going on his motorcycle near Cyber City and a black coloured vehicle came from the wrong side, due to which he had an accident and died on the spot. He was taken to the hospital but from there he was declared dead. So in this regard, we have started legal action and after registering a case under the law, we are taking further action."
"The deceased was a 22-year-old young man who worked in a private company and he had come here with his friends in the morning and at that time this tragic incident happened to him. As far as we know, he was the only son of the family. I want to give message that Gurugram Police is with family," the ACP said.
"We will definitely take whatever action is required under the law. He was a biker and rode bikes as a hobby and because it was Sunday, these people came on Sunday and rode around their village and nearby areas on bikes," the officer said.
