Noida: As the highly anticipated MotoGP Bharat and UP International Trade Show approach, traffic police in Gautam Budh Nagar have issued an advisory, outlining measures to ensure smooth operations and security during the events. The advisory includes a temporary ban on the entry of goods carriers from Delhi to Noida and the imposition of prohibitory orders against unlawful assembly. These measures will be in effect from 6 a.m. on September 21 until 11.59 p.m. on September 25.
The two mega events, taking place in Greater Noida, are expected to attract approximately 10,000 foreign delegates, VIPs, and other high-profile guests. To accommodate the influx of visitors, the local hospitality sector is experiencing a significant boost. Five-star hotels are reporting almost full occupancy, with room rates soaring to 10-15 times their usual prices. This surge in demand is also benefiting two- and three-star hotels, contributing to the overall growth of the city's hospitality and logistics sectors.
In anticipation of the increased traffic and potential disruptions, the Gautam Budh Nagar police have implemented additional measures. Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) has been invoked, prohibiting unlawful assembly from Sunday until September 25. Any gathering or protest without permission will not be permitted during this period, and the use of drones will also be prohibited.
To ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize congestion, heavy vehicles will be restricted from accessing several key routes, including the DND Flyway, Chilla Road, Kalindi Kunj, New Ashok Nagar, and Jhundpura borders. Furthermore, buses, heavy vehicles, and autos will be temporarily prohibited from using the Noida-Greater Noida and Yamuna expressways. However, vehicles transporting essential goods such as milk, vegetables, and medicines will be allowed to pass. Restricted areas near Pari Chowk will also be closely monitored.
DCP (Traffic) Anil Kumar Yadav has stated that additional traffic diversions will be introduced if necessary, as the events coincide with the Ganesh festival, further impacting traffic patterns.
In related news, all educational institutions in Noida and Greater Noida will remain closed on Tuesday due to the Guru Dronacharya Mela, a historically significant fair held in Dankaur. This closure applies to all educational institutions, ranging from nursery to Class 12, including
