NEET UG 2024 News: SC Issues Notice to Centre, NTA on Plea Seeking CBI Probe into Paper Leak Allegations

In a significant development in NEET result controversy, Supreme Court has issued notice to Centre as well as National Testing Agency on plea seeking a CBI probe into NEET Paper leak allegations and other irregularities in exam. The vacation bench has also sought responses from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Bihar government. SC said that the responses should be submitted within two weeks.
Supreme Court will take PIL with other pending ones on July 8, 2024. National Testing Agency on June 13 cancelled the grace marks which they offered to 1,563 candidates. Those candidates have been given option to appear for re-test or forgo the compensatory marks which were awarded to them for the loss of time.
NEET UG 2024 was conducted on May 5 across 4,750 centres. Close to 24 lakh candidates appeared for the exam and were able to check scorecards on June 4, 2024. NTA was scheduled to release NEET 2024 results on June 14 but released it earlier on June 4, 2024. NEET UG examination is conducted for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions across the country.

NEET UG Re-exam for 1563 Candidates

National Testing Agency, NTA will re-conduct the NEET UG Exam on June 23, 2024 for the 1563 candidates who were awarded grace marks due to time loss during May 5 exam. NTA will be releasing NEET UG result 2024 on June 30, 2024.

Education Minister's take on NEET UG Result Row

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on June 13 rejected allegations of paper leak in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET UG 2024. The Minister told reporterd that there is no evidence of paper leak. He said, "There is no evidence of paper leak in NEET-UG. The allegations of corruption in NTA are unfounded, it is a very credible body." To read more about it, click here.
