NVS Class 9, 11 Admissions 2024 Registration For Lateral Entry Begins, How to Apply

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, NVS has started the registration for class 9 and 11 admissions 2024-25. The registration is being done against vacant seats. Admissions will be done on the basis of JNV Lateral Entry Selection Test till October 31. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the selection test that will be conducted on February 10, 2024.

Earlier, NVS used to conduct a Lateral Entry Selection Test (LEST) for admission to only Class 9 for vacant seats. However from 2023, NVS is conducting LEST for class 11 as well. Check eligibility and other details here.

To apply for JNV Class 11 admission, candidates should pass the Class 10 exam from the Central Board of Secondary Education, state board, and other recognized boards. Till now the eligibility criteria which is being followed states that the minimum age to apply should be 15 years and upper age limit at 17 years. The NVS Class 11 merit list was prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the applicants in Class 10 board exams and the availability of seats in the concerned JNVs.

JNV Class 9 LEST Eligibility Criteria

Only those candidates who are bonafide residents & studying Class VIII during the Academic Session 2023-24 in one of the Govt./Govt. recognized schools of the district where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is functioning and where admission is sought, are eligible. District of residence and district of class VIII study should be the same in respect of candidates who desire to apply for admission to class IX (session 2024-25) in the JNV located in the same district.
