While the BJP is looking to retain power for a third consecutive term, the Congress is eyeing a comeback in the state almost after a decade.
93 counting centres were set up across 22 districts in the state for the 90 assembly constituencies, according to Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal. Badshahpur, Gurugram, and Pataudi had two counting centres, while the remaining 87 constituencies had one each.
The counting began with postal ballots, followed by electronic voting machines (EVMs). Agarwal also noted that 30 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces have been deployed to secure the 93 centres, which are under a three-tier security system. Approximately 12,000 police personnel were stationed at the counting centres across Haryana, with central security forces forming the innermost layer of protection.
