Days after Darling Krishna of Love Mocktail fame walked out of the periodic tale, Halagali, set in the pre-Independence era of 1857, sources say that the makers have approached Daali Dhananjaya to play the lead. Directed by Sukesh Kumar, Halagali is based on the heroic acts of the Beda community, hunters, and warriors, who fought against Britishers.

Kannada actors, Daali Dhananjaya and Darling Krishna.

After Darling Krishna quit the period drama Halagali citing commitment issues, the makers of the film are believed to have approached Daali Dhananjaya to play the lead in the historic film.
While talks with Daali Dhananjaya are still on, both the film team and the actor are tight lipped about the probable change in the cast of the film.

Will Daali Be Part Of Halagali?

However, according to reports, the team has discussed with the actor about the story and the making of the film. Meanwhile, Daali Dhananjaya who is already busy with multiple projects including under his own banner, taking up a project that requires a longer commitment has certainly raised a few eyebrows in the industry. Darling Krishna, who initially trained rigorously to fit into the historic character, later walked out since the makers wanted his exclusive dates with certain conditions.

Hunters and warrior

Halagali, according to its makers, is based on the pre-independence era 1857 that marks the first war of Independence. The period drama focuses mainly on the Beda community, who are warriors and hunters from Halagali village in present Bagalkot district, who took Britishers.
The film is set to showcase the heroics of the brave hearts who used unique weapons to defeat British soldiers. Sukesh Nayak, who made his debut with Krishna Tulasi is directing this period drama. With Darling Krishna walking out of the project and reports about Daali Dhananajaya being approached despite his busy schedule for the Halagali, which according to its makers require an exclusive commitment, it is interesting to witness as to who eventually plays the lead in Halagali.
