Days after a family court in Bengaluru granted them divorce, both Kannada rapper and composer Chandan Shetty and social media star Niveditha Gowda held a press conference to address ‘several rumours’ that were doing rounds over the last few days.

No Alimony Or Maintenance

Of the many, Chandan Shetty primarily clarified that the two had got divorced on mutual consent. “Niveditha did not seek any alimony or maintenance and I never gave any. The sole reason was incompatibility and there were no other issues that led to divorce. In fact, we both are financially independent and even during our marriage, financial independence was one of the things we practised,” Chandan explained.
About another rumour that difference of opinion over wanting to have kids led to their split, Chandan Shetty and Niveditha Gowda both echoed that it was never the case as both of them had their own dream to chase.

Third Person!

With social media abuzz about a third person involvement that had led to their divorce, the divorced couple said that they were really hurt about such rumours being spread.
“It really hurts me when a third person is linked to our divorce. In fact, the person is like family to both of us. Just because of some reels, one should not assume and spread rumours. I humbly request everyone to stop spreading such rumours forthwith,” Niveditha Gowda said.

Not A Divorce Of Convenience

Further, Niveditha Gowda clarified that theirs was not a divorce of convenience. “When we felt that there was a lack of compatibility between us, we thought it was better to go our separate ways and yet remain good friends, supporting each other,” Niveditha Gowda said.
About a celebrity who reportedly made a series of allegations about the two, both Chandan Shetty and Niveditha Gowda brushed them all aside and said that they would take legal action against the person, if the ‘person’ continued to make any baseless allegations in future.
The two humbly requested everyone to stop spreading rumours relating to their divorce but warned that otherwise they would initiate legal action against those concerned.
