After 18 long months, BTS' Jin is back! While the singer was beyond happy to reunite with ARMY, he couldn't help but shed a few tears as he bid farewell to his comrades.

BTS' Jin tears up as he gets discharged from military

On June 12, Sergeant Kim Seokjin was officially discharged after completing the 18-month long mandatory military service. While his military discharge ceremony was a joyous occasion for both Jin and his fans, the Awake singer couldn't hold back his tears as he left his military base. As he hugged his fellow comrades and bid them farewell, Jin started to tear up. In fact, before he flashed his million dollar smile for the cameras, the BTS star was seen his tears.
Opening up about the incident during his first live stream post military discharge, Jin said, "My friends were letting me go, but they were sobbing. I couldn't help but cry."

BTS' Jin in the military

Enlisting for his mandatory military service on December 13 in 2022, Jin was the first BTS member to join the South Korean army. After completing his five week long military training at the army boot camp, the singer was appointed as an assistant drill instructor at the 5th Infantry Division. During his time as in the military, Jin bagged numerous accolades including the Special Warrior status.

On the work front

Ahead of his enlistment, Jin had dropped his debut solo single The Astronaut on October 28, 2022. The song, which was produced and written by Jin, Coldplay, DJ Kygo, Bill Rahko and Moses Martin, is about the BTS star's affection and relationship with his fans. Jin will reportedly be releasing his first solo album later this year. However, BIGHIT MUSIC is yet to confirm the reports.
