About Commander Karan Saxena

Based on the book series by Amit Khan, Commander Karan Saxena is equal parts an action saga and spy drama with the fate of the nation at stake. The Hindi series revolves around the title character, a RAW agent played by Gurmeet Choudhary, who selflessly leads his team to uncover a conspiracy that affects their own.
With story, screenplay and dialogues by Jay Sheela Bhansal, Jatin Wagle and Vivek Malik, the Hindi drama series sets up a story of cross-border espionage as one of our own, Captain Swadesh crash lands in Pakistan. ISI Chief Nasir (Iqbal Khan) tries to use this to his advantage and we shall see how his plans either materialise or fail over the course of the series.
The first episode of Commander Karan Saxena, titled Namak Ka Paani, is also an effective setup for its protagonist as Choudhary is given a proper hero's entry, complete with product placement, as he enters an underground fighting ring. He even gets a filmi dialogue to introduce himself as he states, "Jab Commander aata hai toh bhavandar aata hai!"
The story soon moves to the mysterious death of an undercover colleague Rakesh, who leaves appropriate clues for Karan to track down. With the series is a typical espionage thriller, there's enough interest in the narrative and characters created to keep you interested for more. Other characters like Hruta Durgule's Rachana hasn't been introduced yet in this first episode. Director Jatin Wagle keeps the pace moving along in the story with the half hour episodes. The Hindi series Commander Karan Saxena is also available free to watch on the mobile from July 8 as episode will streaming Monday through Friday on Disney+ Hotstar.
