Rajinikanth Health Update: Actor Undergoes Treatment For Swelling In Aorta, To Be Discharged From Hospital In 2 Days

Rajinikanth was admitted to a hospital in Chennai, to undergo a cardiac procedure, on September 30. Now, the hospital's staff has shared an update about the actor's health.

Rajinikanth to be discharged from hospital in 2 days

On October 1, Apollo Hospitals shared a health update about Rajinikanth. In the medical bulletin, the tea, revealed the reason behind the actor's hospitalisation. "Mr. Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, on 30th September 2024. He had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart (Aorta), which was treated by a non surgical, transcatheter method," they stated.

They further added, "Senior Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Sai Satish placed a stent in the aorta completely sealing off the swelling (Endovascular Repair). We would like to let his well-wishers and fans know that the procedure went, as planned. Mr. Rajinikanth is stable and is doing well. He should be home in two days."

On the work front

Rajinikanth will next be seen on the big screen in Vettaiyan. Directed by TJ Gnanavel the upcoming project also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan and Abhirami. The film is scheduled to release on October 10, 2024.

The legendary actor is currently working on the action thriller film, Coolie. The movie is being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Aside from Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj and Upendra also play key characters in the highly-awaited project. Director Lokesh recently revealed that Coolie would be a standalone film, and not another entry in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. Additionally, the Rajinikanth starrer will revolve around gold smuggling rather than drugs. Coolie is set to hit the big screens in 2025.
