Rajinikanth's Coolie Receives Notice From Ilaiyaraaja

In May, music composer Ilaiyaraaja sent a copyright notice to Sun Pictures, the makers of Rajinikanth's upcoming film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, for using his music in the promo video without his approval.
Sun Pictures had shared the title promo of Rajinikanth's 171st film Coolie, which featured the composer's Va Va Pakkam Va song from the 1983 film Thanga Magan, which saw Rajinikanth playing the lead.
Ilaiyaraaja stated that the makers should get permission from him to remix the song or they should remove the music from the video.
When Rajinikanth was asked about Ilaiyaraaja sending a copyright notice to the makers, the actor said, “The issue is between Ilaiyaraaja and producer Kalanithi Maran.” Further updates about the case are awaited.
