In the latest CCTV footage, the cars are seen driving to the location where Renukaswamy was disposed off by Darshan's aides. The body was later found near a drain by a security guard who then alerted the police. The CCTV footage, police sources said, has come as a crucial lead as they appear to connect the dots in the case.
This is the second CCTV footage to be shared by the police in two days.
On Wednesday, the police released CCTV footage that captured the last moments of Renukaswamy at his pharmacy before he was allegedly abducted by associates of Darshan. Shocking details of Swamy's torture and killing have surfaced, with reports revealing a disturbing plot involving payments to three individuals totaling up to Rs 5 lakh to surrender and keep Darshan's name concealed.
According to the remand copy accessed by Times Now, Pavithra Gowda is mentioned as accused number 1, and Darshan as accused number 2. Sources said that Darshan planed three men to take the blame for the murder and offered them Rs 5 lakh each, but their deception was uncovered during rigorous interrogation.
Renukaswamy was allegedly abducted from Chitradurga and brought to Bengaluru, where he was kept in a shed belonging to one of Darshan's associates. There he was subjected to brutal assault, leading to his death. Later his body was later discarded in a nearby stormwater drain.
In addition to Darshan, renowned as the 'Challenging Star,' 12 others have been apprehended in connection to the murder.
Darshan, 47, was detained from a Mysuru hotel following his gym session, based on CCTV footage and other technical evidence linking him to the crime scene.
