Chandrababu Naidu's counsel has approached the High Court for bail.
Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu maintained his innocence and claimed that he was arrested without evidence in the Rs 371 crore the skill development case. "I did not commit any malpractice or corruption. CID arrested me without any proper information and I asked them to show the evidence but they refused to show and attached my name to the FIR without my role," said Naidu in his first reaction after the arrest.

"Today I request the cadre and the people, I have not done anything wrong. They came intentionally at midnight and created a tense atmosphere in the area at night. Booked (me) in some cases, and are not showing proof and brought the situation to arrest me. I asked them what have I done. Asked them to show if there is any proof of concept or prime facie. Without doing anything they made an FIR but in that FIR also they did not mention my role and the facts. This is a sad state of affairs and wrong (sic)," Naidu said while commenting on his arrest.

"Chandrababu spent Rs.10 crore for effecting repairs to Lake View Guest House in Hyderabad before he fled from there in the cash for vote case. He spent another Rs.10 crore on Chief Minister’s office, Rs.100 crore for chartered flights and Rs.80 crore on Dharma Porata Deekshas," he said while addressing a press conference on Friday, Telangana today cited.

Police officials have provided the advocates of Chandrababu Naidu with details of the FIR copy and other orders issued by the AP High Court in the Skill Development case.
However, Chandrababu Naidu and his advocates requested the investigating officers to provide prima facie evidence, pointing out that his name had not been mentioned in the FIR report.
The former CM questioned the CID officials about how he could be arrested without any information regarding his involvement in the case.
Nevertheless, the police stated that the arrest is the initial step in the investigation process, and all the details would be provided in the remand report within 24 hours.
The CID officials emphasized that they are proceeding with the arrest in accordance with the guidelines laid out in the DK Basu case.
