This time, he has been released on a 21-day furlough, which is a short-term temporary release of convicts from jail. Parole and furlough, both are temporary releases of prisoners but parole is granted at the request of the prisoner and can be denied.
The last parole which was granted to Dera Sacha Sauda chief on July 20 this year, was for 30 days. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was out on parole on his birthday on August 15 and reportedly stayed at an ashram in Uttar Pradesh's Barwana, Baghpat.
