Encounter Breaks Out Between Security Forces And Terrorists in J&K's Udhampur
In the past few months, there have been a series of encounter between terrorists and security forces across Jammu and Kashmir.

Udhampur: An encounter beoke out in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur area on Sunday between the security forces and the terrorists. Security forces engaged in a brief gunfight with Jaish-linked terrorists during a search operation in Udhampur's Basantgarh area.
The encounter began after the security forces established contact with terrorists hiding in the dense forests in Basantgarh area. A joint search operation was launched by security forces in higher reaches of Basantgarh upon receiving inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.
Terrorists of the same group were intercepted earlier on August 6, however, they managed to escape.
"Based on specific intelligence about presence of terrorist,Joint search operation was launched by Security forces in higher reaches of Basantgarh under the J/D of P/S Basantgarh of Udh. Exchange of fire has taken place Area cordoned off. Further details awaited," Udhampur unit of Jammu and Kashmir Police posted on X.
This comes a day after two army soldiers lost their love during an encounter in Kokernag area. In the past few months, there have been a series of encounter between terrorists and security forces across Jammu and Kashmir.
On Saturday, two Army soldiers lost their lives in action and two civilians were injured after encounter broke out in Kokernag area of Anantnag. The Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF had launched a joint operation to hunt down terrorists.
Havildar Dipak Kumar Yadav and Lance Naik Praveen Sharma laid down their lives in the line of duty in Anantnag. The operation to hunt down the ultras continued despite the challenging topography -- the Ahlan Gagarmandu forest area of the Anantnag district is at an altitude of 10,000 feet.
