Gujarat Police on Monday arrested two people for attempting a train derailment in Botad district of the state.

Botad: In a breakthrough for Gujarat Police, two people were arrested for allegedly trying to sabotage a passenger train in Botad district of the state. As per the police, the two accused planned to derail the train to rob the passengers of the train. The Incident took place in the wee hours of September 25 near the Kundli village.
According to reports, the train hit the piece of iron kept on the train, but fortunately, it did not derail. The financial condition of both the accused was not so good, so they reportedly planned to rob the train.
Both the accused planned the robbery after watching a YouTube video. The two persons have been identified as Ramesh and Jayesh. They kept an iron rod on tracks on September 25. However, the train halted for a short while after hitting it.
Gujarat Police Arrests Two People:
"As it is a very serious offence Botad district police, Railway Protection Force, ATS, and various agencies of the Center carried out the investigation. Two accused in this incident, Ramesh and Jayesh have been arrested," Superintendent of Police, Botad, Kishor Baloliya, said as reported by Hindustan Times.
"They had conspired to loot money and other belongings of the passengers after the train would have derailed in the nearby fields," he added.
