Union Minister Piyush Goyal speaks on interim Budget.

New Delhi: Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday said the interim Budget presented by his government is about the "youth, women and the middle class". Highlighting the various positives about the last Budget of Modi 2.0, he said the entire Budget is focused on better future of the middle class and those coming out of the poverty.
Talking exclusively to Times Now, the minister said when 25 crore people came out of multidimensional poverty, their aspirations are being met for the betterment of their families. "2 crore additional homes will be built, we are trying to see that new middle class also get homes," Goyal further said.
Talking about the infrastructural development, he said that it has a multidimensional impact on economy as it helps in boosting exports, creates job and pushes manufacturing sector as well.
On the question of country's debt, he said it is manageable. "The debt levels in India are absolutely manageable and amongst the best in the world. Countries like Japan have three times the debt level of India..." he said.
"Our external debt is negligible. Income inequality is being addressed..and out government's focus is on the last man at the bottom of the pyramid who are now being given new opportunity," the Union Minister said while emphasising the Centre's effort to take more and more people out of poverty.
"For us, every rupee that taxpayers pay is precious. We make sure that whatever you pay is put to good use, and in fact, today, taxpayers take pride that they are contributing to the making of a developed India...." Mr. Goyal further said.

Goyal On Nitish Joining BJP, Jharkhand Political Crisis

Responding to the question of Nitish Kumar coming back to BJP and Hemant Soren resigning as CM, he said there is no link between these things. "The people of India always wanted a leader like Mr. Modi, who will take strict action against corrupt individuals and set an example. So, I think what's happening in the country is natural. We are trying to bring good governance..." he added.
He also spoke on the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra being led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He said as many yatras Gandhi will take out, the more it would confirm that the BJP-led centre is on right track.
"We welcome Rahul Gandhi's Nyay Yatra, and I wish he would take out many more yatras. Because the more reaction we see that Rahul Gandhi is getting from the public only confirms that we are on the right track..." he said.
