This is a gift from the kitchens of Goan Saraswat Brahmins. Made with a mix of locally sourced vegetables, it is popularly made during Ganesh Chaturthi. Khatkhatem features veggies like raw banana, pumpkin, raw jackfruit, yam, radish, drumsticks, corn, green beans, turnip, yam, sweet potatoes and is typically made without onion or garlic.

Ambadyache Sasav
Sasav is basically mustard seeds in Konkani language, and they are the star ingredient of this delicacy. Also known as ghotache, it is made with ghota or ambade which has sweet and sour notes. The mango pulp is often flavoured with generous amounts of coconut. It has a thick texture a few locals also use jaggery for an extra sweet taste. It goes well with hot rice.
