Man Slits Wife's Throat Over Suspected Affair With A Social Media Friend In West Bengal
The son informed police about the frequent conflicts between his parents, stating that his father had previously issued threats against her.
Since the murder, the accused is on the run.
Kolkata: In a tragic turn of events in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, a disturbing incident unfolded on Friday, when a man allegedly slit his wife's throat during a confrontation over her social media account and 0nline friends. The accused, identified as Parimal Baidya, resides in Harinarayanpur, Joynagar, with his wife, Aparna Baidya, and their two children.
Following the fatal altercation, Parimal, who works as a mason, fled the scene, leaving behind a gruesome discovery for his seventh-grade son, who returned home to find his mother lying dead in a pool of blood. The neighbours called the police and told them that Parimal using a vegetable cutter attacked his wife.
Tragically, Aparna succumbed to her injuries. The son informed police about the frequent conflicts between his parents, stating that his father had previously issued threats against Aparna. According to the police, the couple had engaged in another altercation the night before the incident.
A police officer told The Times of India that Parimal harboured suspicions regarding his wife's alleged affair with social media friends. The continuous fights and mistrust made Aparna leave Parimal's house and live with her parent.
"We suspect the husband killed her because she did not approve of her social media activity. Aparna was 32 years old," shared a police official. Since the murder, the husband has been on the run and the investigation is underway.
The police sent Aparna's body for post-mortem examination, and the weapon used in the crime has been recovered from the crime scene.
