A group of young men holding a gun stopped a school van, carrying little children, to make reels in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district. The men have been identified on the basis of the video of the incident but the accused are yet to be arrested.
The police launched the probe after the video of the incident went viral on social media.
Two motorcycle-borne youngsters carrying a gun stopped the school van for purportedly making reels. In the video, the young men are seen stopping the private school van carrying children and then brandishing a gun in the air to shoot reels. They are seen lip-syncing to the tune of a Bhojpuri number, heard in the background. The video was shot in Maniyari police station area of Muzaffarpur but it is not clear when it was shot, the police said.
"We have identified one of the boys who was making reels by stopping the school van. He will be caught soon. Our teams are after him," Muzaffarpur (west) deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Abhishek Anand told TOI on Friday, adding they would sternly deal with the law-violators.He added it is a very serious matter, shooting reels by stopping a school van but what is more serious is that they are displaying arms before the schoolchildren at public places. "We are also looking for the van driver to get more details," the DSP said.In another video, the bikers are seen partying at a deserted location and brandishing weapons there as well. "We have to verify if the accused persons have a criminal history. If not, we will take preventive action, so that they don't enter the world of crime," the DSP said.
