Mumbai: Mumbai's biggest festival- Ganeshotsav 2023- has kick-started from Tuesday, September 19. The 10-day long celebrations wherein scores of Ganesh idols with different themes are set up in public spaces across the cities with some popular pandals being set up at the same spots for years. Such idols are named mostly after the location they are set up in. For example, Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh idol is set up every year at Lalbaug and Andhericha Raja idol is installed in Andheri. During this Ganpati period, scores of visitors and residents go pandal-hopping. Here are five Ganesh Pandals in Mumbai that you should not miss-

1. Lalbaugcha Raja
One of the most famous Ganesh Murtis in Mumbai, Lalbaugcha Raja is frequented by celebrities and Bollywood actors. First look of the Lalbaugcha Ganesh was unveiled amid much fanfare last week.

- By train: Lalbaug railway station is the nearest railway station, located about 500 meters away from the pandal.
- By bus: There are several buses that stop near the pandal, including the 47A, 126, and 129.

2. GSB Seva Mandal Ganpati (King Circle)
GSB Seva Mandal Ganpati idol is Mumbai's richest Bappa. The idol adorns gold and silver jewellery. On the first day of Ganeshotsav on Tuesday, the idol got 32kgs of Silver donations. The gold and silver from this year's idol will be used in construction of gate for Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

The Ganesh Galli Mumbaicha Raja was started in 1928. Every year this pandal comes up with innovative themes and decorations and sees a record number of visitors-reaching millions-each year.

Set up by Nikadvari Lane Sarvajanik Shri Ganeshotsav Mandal, 22-feet Girgaoncha Raja idol, is made of special Shaadu clay. It is one of the most eco-friendly Ganpati murti (idol) in Mumbai.

- By bus: There are several buses that stop near the pandal, including the 6, 171, and 202.

Apart from these there are many popular Ganesh pandals in almost every nook and corner in the city that can be visited. More than 27,00 Ganesh Pandals have got BMC permits this year.
