Ganeshotsav 2023: First Look of Lalbaughcha Raja Idol
Mumbai: Ahead of Ganeshotsav 2023, the first look of Mumbai's iconic Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh idol was unveiled amid much fanfare on Friday. Located in the Lalbaug area of Mumbai, this Ganesh idol is one of the most renowned and revered ones in the city.
Every year during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, millions of devotees from all over Mumbai and beyond flock to Lalbaug to catch a glimpse of this magnificent idol. Known for its grandeur and intricate decorations, Lalbaugcha Raja is installed in a specially designed pandal that often follows a unique theme.
This year, the Lalbaugcha Raja Ganeshotsav Mandal has taken insurance worth Rs 26.54 crore from New India Assurance. The policy covers risk by fire, theft, accident, stampede, terrorism and poisoning by prasad.
The 10-day long festivities of Ganeshotsav 2023 will begin on September 19 and end with Ganesh Visarjan (idol immersions) on September 29.
