The major part of Kabir's works was collected by the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan Dev and incorporated into the Sikh scripture Guru Granth Sahib. The identity of Kabir's works are his two-line couplets, which are known as Kabir's couplets.

Regarding the birth of Kabir Das Ji, it is believed that Kabir Das Ji was born from the womb of a widow Brahmani with the blessings of Ramanand Guru. Due to fear of society, she left Kabir near a pond named Lahartara near Kashi, after which a weaver nurtured him. Kabirdas ji used to roam around the country and always lived and enjoyed the company of sages and saints.

Meaning- A person keeps rotating a rosary of beads in his hand for a long time, but his feelings do not change, the turmoil of his mind does not calm down. Kabir's advice to such a person is to stop rotating this rosary in the hand and change or rotate the beads of the mind.
2. When I went to look for evil, I did not find anyone bad; when I
searched my heart, there was no one worse than me.
Meaning- Kabir Das Ji says that when I searched for evil in the world, I did not find it anywhere, but when I looked inside my heart, I did not find anyone worse than myself.
3. Kabir, when we were born, the world laughed and we cried.
Do such deeds that we laugh and the world cries.
Meaning- Kabir Das Ji says that as long as I (ego) was inside me, I did not find Hari (God). Now that I have found God, my ego has been lost somewhere. I have found the lamp inside me which has dispelled all my darkness.
4. Kabir stands in the market, prays for everyone's welfare.
Neither friendship with anyone nor enmity with anyone.
Meaning- Kabir Das ji writes that we should think about everyone's welfare. Because in this world, apart from one God, wealth, relations, friends, enemies, nothing is eternal.
5. The world died reading books, no one became a scholar, one who
reads two and a half letters of love is a scholar.
Meaning- People of this world have read big books but that has not made them scholars. Kabirdas ji says that if someone reads only two and a half letters of love, then he is the true scholar.
