Shubman Gill's India A are all set to take on Abhimanyu Easwaran's India B in the first match of the Duleep Trophy at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. All eyes will be on Gill as well as Jaiswal, who will be gunning for a good start to a crucial red-ball season.

Shubman Gill will be in action for the first time in almost a month, when he leads India A out at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to face India B, which will be led by Bengal batter Abhimanyu Easwaran. This five-day game will act as a perfect preparation ground for him, with just two weeks left for the two-Test Bangladesh series at home.

Ace India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who returned to white-ball formats after that horrific car crash, is yet to play in a longer-duration game. But on Thursday, he will turn out for India B against Gill.

Pant will have competition in Gill's teammate Dhruv Jurel, who proved his mettle with the bat against England earlier this year in Pant's absence.

It is imperative for another wicketkeeper, KL Rahul, who is in Gill's team, to come good in the tournament as he missed a large chunk of the home games against England due to an injury. There will be a jostle between him and Sarfaraz Khan as well for a spot in the middle order.

Besides the Mumbai lad, a lot of eyes will be on his brother Musheer as well, who made a smooth transition from U-19 to first-class cricket.

Kuldeep Yadav will feature for Easwaran's team and is expected to have a good outing at the Chinnaswamy. The selectors will keep a close eye on the Bengal duo of Mukesh Kumar and Akash Deep, both of whom had bright initiations into the traditional format.

Other pacers like Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed and Vidhwath Kaverappa will also be under the scanners.
