Star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli's lean run of form in international cricket continued on Friday (September 20) after he was dismissed for a knock of just 17 in the second innings of the first Test match between India and Bangladesh at the MA Chidabaram Stadium in Chennai.
Kohli looked in solid touch after walking out to bat in the final session of the second day but his innings was cut short by star Banglaedsh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz. The off-spinner trapped him in front of the stumps and after a long appeal, the on-field umpire raised his finger.
Kohli and batting partner Shubman Gill had a long chat but the former Indian captain decided against taking a review and walked back to the dressing room.
Virat Kohli's DRS Blunder
However, the replays left the cricket fraternity baffled as ultra-edge showed a spike from Kohli's bat. With the ball extremely close to the naked eye when the incident occurred, it looks like there was an inside edge rather than the bat touching the ground.
Kohli's decision to not take a review left many surprised, with Indian captain Rohit left shocked and his reaction to the incident going viral on social media.

Kohli is playing his first Test match in nine months and only second in 2024 after missing the five-match Test series against England due to personal reasons.
Talking about the match, India finished day 2 with a score of 80-3 in the second innings. Skipper Rohit and star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal also departed early. Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant are on the crease overnight with the host having a 308-run lead.
