No Rohit, Virat; 4 Players Retained: Complete List Of Changes In India's Squad For T20I Series Vs Australia

- India have announced their squad for the five-match T20I series vs Australia.
- Only four players from the World Cup squad have been retained.
- 12 players, including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested.
India have to bounce back from their heartbreaking loss against Australia in the final of the World Cup 2023, as they take on the same opposition just four days after the summit clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The BCCI have announced the 15-member squad that will take on Australia over the course of five games in the shortest format of the game starting November 23. A lot of players from the World Cup squad have been rested while only four members have been retained.
A total of 12 players who were announced as part of the World Cup squad have been rested for the T20I series vs Australia. In fact, head coach Rahul Dravid too will not be part of the series, with VVS Laxman stepping into his shoes.
Here is the complete list of changes in India's T20I squad for the Australia series from that of the World Cup 2023:
Suryakumar Yadav, who played the last six matches for India, was named as the captain for the entire duration of the five-match series. Ishan Kishan who played in the first two league stage matches in the absence of Shubman Gill, is also part of the T20I series. Prasidh Krishna, who was brought in as a replacement for the injured Hardik Pandya was also retained for the series against Australia. Shreyas Iyer will be part of the T20I squad for the final two matches, after being rested for the first three games.
A total of 12 players, who were part of the World Cup 2023 squad for India will be rested for the Australia series. These include Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin and Shardul Thakur. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya, who was the T20I captain for the past couple of series for India, will not be part of the squad for the Australia series, as he has still not recovered from the injury he suffered against Bangladesh in the World Cup.
