Sanju Samson DROPPED From India D Playing XI For Duleep Trophy 2024 Opener Despite Ishan Kishan Injury

Ishan Kishan was ruled out of Round 1 of the Duleep Trophy 2024 owing to a groin injury that he suffered while playing in the Buchi Babu Invitational tournament. The BCCI announced that Sanju Samson was drafted in as his replacement for the side. Fans expected that they would see him finally in action. However, he was dropped from the playing XI despite Kishan's absence.

The Duleep Trophy 2024 has begun and one of the two opening matches that are being played right now in India C vs India D at Anantapur. Some of the big stars of Indian cricket are in action in this game, and all eyes where on how Sanju Samson would play for India D under the leadership for Shreyas Iyer, after being drafted into the squad at the last minute. However, fans have to wait to see the Kerala wicketkeeper-batter as he is not playing in the match.

In place of Samson, India D have selected two wicketkeeper-batters in their lineup in the form of Atharva Taide and out-of-favour India star KS Bharat. Who will take the field as the wicketkeeper out of the two remains to be seen.

After being put in to bat, India D have been struggling t score runs. Within 13 overs of the first session of play on Day 1, they have been reduced to 34/5. Only Yashas Dubey has managed to score in double figures till.
