KEY HIGHLIGHTS
  • India have a busy schedule after the 2024 T20 World Cup
  • India will host three teams in the season
  • They will play one series in South Africa and another in Australia
Team India is one of the busiest teams and the players are always on the road, either touring another country or hosting a team. Courtesy of the wealth of talent that India has, the BCCI has the luxury of giving regulars a rest and fielding a second-string team when the selectors feel so.
The same will be the case when India will travel to Zimbabwe right after the 2024 T20 World Cup. The players will not have a long rest and will fly to Zimbabwe for a five-match T20I series. Of course, the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and other seniors won't be travelling to Zimbabwe.
As the fans wait for the squad announcement for the Zimbabwe series, here we have a look at Team India's complete schedule after the 2024 T20 World Cup. India will host three teams and make two overseas trips before the Champions Trophy.
The Indian players will fly to Zimbabwe for 5 T20Is after the T20 WC. The matches will be played on July 6, 7, 10, 13 and 14. The players will leave for Sri Lanka to play 3 ODIs and as many T20Is against the hosts. The dates for the India-Sri Lanka series have not been announced. India are likely to field a full-strength squad for the ODI series.
After the SL series, India will host Bangladesh and New Zealand. Chennai and Kanpur will host two Tests against Bangladesh in September-October. The three T20Is will be played on October 6, 9 and 12.
After a break of just three days, India and New Zealand will kick off the three-match Test series. Bengaluru, Pune and Mumbai will host the matches from October 16, 24 and November 1, respectively.
The players will leave for South Africa after the Test series and square off against the hosts in a four-match T20I series. The final T20I of the series is scheduled to be played on November 15. Only the non-Test players are expected to tour SA.
The Test players are expected to leave for Australia soon after the end of the Test series against New Zealand. The five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series is scheduled to be played from November 22 to January 7.
The players will have a two-week break after the Test series. India will host England in 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs from January 22 to February 12. The ODI series will be played before the Champions Trophy and will be of utmost importance for Team India.
