The win has boosted India's position at the top of the table with a PCT of 74.27. India have three Tests against New Zealand at home and five Tests against Australia in Australia. Three wins in the remaining games should be enough for India to qualify for the WTC final without depending on other results. India would look to cement a place in the WTC final in the home series against New Zealand. Beating India in India is not an easy task and New Zealand's sub-continent record is not great. The team was hammered by Sri Lanka 2-0 in the recently concluded Test series.

India Steamroll Bangladesh

As rain washed out Day 2 and 3, it seemed the game would end in a draw, however, India bowled out Bangladesh for 233 in the first innings before scoring 285-9 in just 34.4 overs. Bangladesh could only score 146 in the second innings, setting India a target of 95 runs, which they achieved without breaking a sweat.
