A remarkable effort from the Indian cricket team saw the Rohit Sharma-led side beat Bangladesh by seven wickets in the second Test. Rain took significant time out of the game after Day 2 and 3 were washed out, however, the team put in a splendid show on the final two days to register an emphatic win. The win has boosted India's chances of playing their third consecutive World Test Championship (WTC) final. A draw would have been a massive blow to India as they would have needed a win in five out of the remaining eight Tests to qualify, however, the win over Bangladesh in the second Test has put them in a very comfortable position.

How Can India Qualify For WTC Final After Win Over Bangladesh

The win has boosted India's position at the top of the table with a PCT of 74.27. India have three Tests against New Zealand at home and five Tests against Australia in Australia. Three wins in the remaining games should be enough for India to qualify for the WTC final without depending on other results. India would look to cement a place in the WTC final in the home series against New Zealand. Beating India in India is not an easy task and New Zealand's sub-continent record is not great. The team was hammered by Sri Lanka 2-0 in the recently concluded Test series.

India Steamroll Bangladesh

As rain washed out Day 2 and 3, it seemed the game would end in a draw, however, India bowled out Bangladesh for 233 in the first innings before scoring 285-9 in just 34.4 overs. Bangladesh could only score 146 in the second innings, setting India a target of 95 runs, which they achieved without breaking a sweat.
