shipping Neeraj Chopra and
Manu Bhaker ever since the 2024 Paris Olympics medalists were seen engaged in a conversation.
Matchmaking speculations first emerged when the javelin thrower was caught on camera having a
heart-to-heart with the sharpshooter’s mother, Sumedha Bhaker.
“Rishta pakka (the match is made),” an X user declared after watching the video, which has clocked over one million views.
Although the clip was inconclusive, with the audio barely allowing an interpretation of Chopra and mommy Bhaker’s chat, countless people heard wedding bells.
Rumours of a potential wedding only seemed to gain wider acceptance when the silver-medalist was later spotted talking to the bronze winner.
When the news reached a seemingly-sceptical section of the internet, it was written off as nothing but a tactic for online engagement.

Such rumour-mongering needs to stop immediately,” wrote one.
Turns out, the prospect of the Olympians getting married as an opinion far predates the whispers.
Long before the twin videos of Chopra with the Bhakers went viral, one revealed that they overheard a group of women discussing the Olympics on the Metro.
“Forget the sports, medals or the scores, one of them literally said, ‘Neeraj Chopra ko
Manu Bhaker se shaadi krleni chahiye’. Indian aunties got to be real sometime,” the post read.
Unfortunately for those who wanted the rumours to be true, Manu's father, Ram Kishan Bhaker, has put them to bed.
"Manu is still very young," he told Dainik Bhasker. "She is not even of marriageable age. Not even thinking about it right now. Manu's mother considers Neeraj like her son."
As for Chopra's family, they said when he gets married, the whole country will find out about it.
