Former prime minister of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), Raja Farooq Haider Khan, has made a startling claim on X, urging Pakistan to be fully prepared for any potential Indian military action in the region in response to the recent Reasi terror attack.
In a post on social media platform X, Khan wrote: "Pakistan should be fully prepared for any Indian misadventure in Azad Kashmir in pretext of Riasi (sic) attack."
At least 10 people were killed in a suspected terror attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in the Ransu area of Reasi district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday evening, according to police. The vehicle, transporting passengers from Katra to the Shiv Khori shrine, was targeted by terrorists, causing it to fall into a gorge.
Reports indicate that terrorists opened fire, hitting the bus tyre and causing the fatal accident. This incident occurred just hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony for his new term.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi, Mohita Sharma, confirmed the attack was a terror strike. Rescue operations were intensified, with senior police officers and other forces rushing to the scene. The area was cordoned off, and a search operation involving the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police carried out to apprehend the terrorists.
Several key leaders have expressed their concern and anguish following the news of the terror attack. An Army helicopter was deployed to conduct search operations in Reasi, and some of the injured were shifted to GMC in Jammu for treatment.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of the situation following the attack, which resulted in at least 10 fatalities. The Indian government has vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice and has increased security measures in the region.
