A helicopter crashed on top of a hotel building in Cairns City, Queensland on Monday (August 12) prompting mass evacuation from the area. The hotel was evacuated and there were no injuries to anyone on the ground. However, there is no information on those who were inside the copter.

A helicopter crashed on top of a hotel building in Cairns City, Queensland on Monday (August 12) prompting mass evacuation from the area. The hotel was evacuated and there were no injuries to anyone on the ground. However, there is no information on those who were inside the copter.
Meanwhile, Queensland Police has declared the Public Preservation Act in the area, per the Daily Mail. The report further added that an exclusion zone has been created covering the Esplanade area, including Minnie Street, Aplin Street and Grafton Street.
The incident happened at around midnight local time on Monday. The police were called to the scene at roughly 1:50 a.m., the report added.
