Kuwait Building Fire: Who Is KG Abraham, Aadujeevitham Producer And Head Of NBTC Group?

The Kuwait building that caught fire, killing more than 40 people including Indians, was on lease by Malayali magnate KG Abraham, News Nine and the Times of India reported on Thursday. The building was occupied by employees of the NBTC group, one of the biggest construction companies in Kuwait. Abraham is its partner and managing director.

The Kuwait building that caught fire, killing more than 40 people including Indians, was on lease by Malayali magnate KG Abraham, News Nine and the Times of India reported on Thursday. The building was occupied by employees of the NBTC group, one of the biggest construction companies in Kuwait. Abraham is its partner and managing director.
KG Abraham is also referred to as KGA. He is the founder and chairman of KGA Group, a company that deals in engineering goods manufacturing and exporting. The 69-year-old magnate also owns Crowne Plaza, a five star hotel in Kochi. However, many Keralites know him as the producer of Malayalam blockbuster ‘Aadujeevitham - The Goat Life'.
Abraham made headlines on Wednesday after his building in Kuwait's Mangaf area was engulfed in fire. The death toll, as of Thursday, stood at 49, which included 41 Indian nationals. More than 50 Indians were hospitalized.
Who Is KG Abraham?
Abraham, a business magnate, has been living in Kuwait for three decades. The 69-year-old is is the Managing Director of the NBTC Group and the Kerala-based KGA Group. He was at the forefront to support the people of Kerala during 2018 and 2019 floods.
Abraham criticized the Pinarayi Vijayan-led LDF govt following reports that money was swindled from CM’s Distress Relief Fund.
More recently, he produced The Goat Life, a film that stars Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Meanwhile, Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah demanded to probe into the incident and vowed to hold accountable those responsible for the tragedy.
