Eleven Keralites who lost their life in Kuwait after a fire swept through a Mangaf building that housed foreign workers have been identified. The death toll of Malyalis in the fire tragedy surged to 14 on Thursday. At least 49 people lost their lives in the tragedy, including 41 Indians. An Air Force plane will be sent to bring back the mortal remains.
IAF sources told Times Now that it s ready to assist. "Depending on the requirements we receive from MEA we will send the aircraft. The aircraft type will be decided depending on the requirements of MEA."
A high-level team from New Delhi has been dispatched to the Gulf nation in order to coordinate with local authorities for the repatriation of the mortal remains of the deceased.
Kuwait's Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousuf Al-Sabah ordered the arrest of the building’s owner during a visit to the site, local media reported. “We will address the issue of labor overcrowding,” he said. "I’m now going to see what violations were committed here and I will deal with the owner of the property.”
According to local media reports, NBTC group rented the building for the stay of more than 195 workers, most of them Indian nationals.

4. Akash S Nair - Pathanamthitta
5. Muraleedharan PV - Pathanamthitta ??
6. ?Saju Vargheese - Pathanamthitta
7. ?Stephin Abraham Babu - Kottayam
8. MP Bahuleyan was 36 years old and a native of Pulamanthol, Malappuram District.
9. Thomas C. Oommen: Also called Joby, Oommenson was from Thiruvalla in Pathanamthitta district. He went to Kuwait almost 4 years ago.
10. Ranjith and P Kunhi Kelu: The two were from Kasaragod. Ranjith (34) was from Cherkala Kundadka and P Kunhi Kelu (55) from Trikkaripur Elambachiya.
Local media on Wednesday reported that 146 people managed to escape the blaze safely. At least 49 were hospitalized and 11 have been discharged after receiving treatment. The Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh said that some of the bodies have been charred beyond recognition.
“An Air Force plane is on standby. As soon as the bodies are identified, the kin will be informed and our Air Force plane will bring the bodies back" she said.
