The first presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle is just around the corner. Highly anticipated, it will take place between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. It is slated for June 27, 2024, 9 pm ET, at CNN's Atlanta studios. It will also be aired live on CNN, CNN International, CNN en Espa?ol, and CNN Max. The debate will mark the first face-to-face clash of the 2024 campaign between Biden and Trump. It will be moderated by will be moderated by CNN anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash. With a wealth of experience under their belt, the two are sure to facilitate an organized and insightful discussion.
Who is Jake Tapper?
Jake Tapper works as CNN's lead anchor for Washington, D.C., events. He also hosts "The Lead with Jake Tapper" and the Sunday morning show "State of the Union." Tapper is not new to moderating presidential debates, having done so for a GOP debate in 2015. He also moderated the final Democratic debate of 2020 between Biden and Senator Bernie Sanders. Prior to joining CNN, Tapper worked as a senior White House correspondent for ABC News. He graduated from Dartmouth College. He is also an accomplished author.
Who is Dana Bash?
Dana Bash is CNN's chief political correspondent. She anchors "Inside Politics with Dana Bash" and co-anchors "State of the Union." She has also many a time served as a moderator for political town halls and debates. She moderated two presidential primary debates in 2020, and six in 2016. Having graduated from The George Washington University, Bash is also a veteran political journalist. She launched a special CNN series called "Being..." and the "Badass Women of Washington." She has a book, titled, "America’s Deadliest Election," coming soon.
The second presidential debate will be held on September 20, 2024. It will be hosted by ABC. There is a possible vice-presidential debate also currently in the talks, with potential dates set for July 23 or August 13.
