UPDATE: A person was reportedly shot near the Long Beach LIRR train station in New York on Thursday around 6 p.m., according to sources cited by News 12. The crowd reportedly grew so large that the Long Beach Police Department called in Nassau County police for assistance. It remains unclear if anyone was arrested in connection with the incident.

Witnesses are reporting a shooting incident at the Long Beach Train Station in New York, urging people to avoid the area. These reports are unconfirmed, and authorities have not commented on the situation yet.
"Stay away from LIRR LONG BEACH NY. shooting possible at station be cautious around business district in location," one person wrote on Facebook.
Another wrote, "Hey Long Beach officials. Because of tonight shooting and roits in Long Beach and boardwalks you better not cancel all ends in Long Beach. Because of stupid people and if you do decide I better get a full refund."
A third witness reported, "And I'm right again...Same people, same crimes !!!!! Nassau county, state troopers and mta police on scene ,, helicoptes , Long Beach train station ... Word is shooting."
"Long beach is so crowded Can't even enjoy the day at the beach without it being a shooting its ridiculous ?? Yall fighting each other causing so much issues for the beach and restrictions now yall kids need to stop," wrote another person.
Amid the incident, the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) reported a partial suspension of service between Long Beach and Island Park "due to a police investigation at Long Beach."
"All train service will operate to/from Island Park. The N15 NICE bus service is cross-honoring LIRR tickets between Long Beach and Island Park," said a post on the LIRR X account.
As a result of the suspension, several trains were delayed.
"The 7:06pm train from Penn Station to Long Beach is delayed at Island Park due to police activity at Long Beach. The 7:29pm train from Penn Station to Ronkonkoma is operating 10-15 minutes late following earlier police activity at Jamaica," LIRR reported.
