A Fort Worth man, Timothy Muller, 43, has been charged with making threats against an FBI agent involved in a high-profile investigation. Leigha Simonton, the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, broke the news. Muller is accused of influencing, obstructing, or retaliating against a federal officer and of sending threats over state lines.

Allegations and Arrest

On Thursday morning, Muller was captured without a hitch outside his house. The same day, a criminal complaint was used to file the charges. The complaint states that on June 11 at 5:03 p.m., Muller reportedly made a threatening call to an FBI special agent.

Context of the Threat

It was known that the agent in question was working on a case involving H.B.'s laptop. This event happened not long after media outlets revealed that H.B. had been found guilty in a trial involving the acquisition of a handgun in 2018.

Details of the Threat

Muller is said to have started the threatening conversation with a quick "hey," which caused the agent to end the contact. The agent and his family received grave threats from Muller when he called again a minute and five seconds later.
In his message, Muller allegedly said, “You can run, but you can’t [expletive] hide,” and accused the agent of covering up child pornography and rape. He further threatened, “We’re gonna [expletive] go through the FBI and just start throwing you [expletive]s into jail. Or, you can steal another election, and then the guns will come out, and we’ll hunt you [expletive]s down and slaughter you like the traitorous dogs you are in your own [expletive] homes.”
Muller concluded his message with graphic threats, stating, “The last thing you’ll ever hear are the horrified shrieks of your widow and orphans. And then you know what we’re going to do? … We’re going to slaughter your whole [expletive] family.”

Follow-Up Threats via Text

Following the voicemail, Muller allegedly sent several threatening texts to the agent. One message read, “How’s the family? Safe?” Another text stated, “Did you [expletive]s really think you were going to disenfranchise 75 million Americans and not die? Lol.”

Legal Proceedings

A criminal complaint is not evidence of a crime, but rather an accusation of it. Until his guilt is established in a court of law, Timothy Muller is thought to be innocent. He may spend up to ten years in federal prison if found guilty. The Dallas Field Office of the Federal Bureau of inquiry carried out the inquiry. The prosecution is being handled by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Texas.
