Orxa Mantis High-Performance Electric Bike Launched: Rivals Ultraviolette F77, Ola Electric And More

Orxa Energies, another Bengaluru-based electric mobility start-up, has announced the launch of a new electric bike setting target on the likes of Ultraviolette F77 and Ola Electric. The new Orxa Mantis has been priced at Rs 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) which makes it one of the most expensive electric two-wheelers to buy in the country. The electrically-powered naked motorcycle also comes with a standard 1.3 kW charger, as part of the purchase kit. The company has also opened order books for the new motorcycle at a token amount of Rs 10,000, however, this booking amount is limited for the initial 1,000 customers and then will be revised to Rs 25,000 for subsequent bookings. The company has further added that the bookings will be initiated starting April 2024.

  • Impressive Acceleration: The electric bike boasts impressive acceleration capabilities, sprinting from 0-100 kmph in just 8.9 seconds. It is designed for quick acceleration in city traffic, achieving 0-20 kmph in 2.7 seconds and 20-60 kmph in 6.2 seconds.
  • Aerospace-Grade Chassis: The Orxa Mantis features a fully cast aerospace-grade all-aluminum chassis.
  • Long Range and Efficient Battery: Equipped with an 8.9 kWh battery pack, the Mantis claims an impressive range of 221 km (IDC) on a single charge. The bike features advanced Battery Management System (BMS) and dual-redundant thermal management.
  • Strategic Partnerships for Seamless Ownership: Orxa has strategically partnered with Spare It for after-sales services and Nunam for end-of-life battery buyback services.

Orxa Mantis vs Ultraviolette f77:

Orxa Mantis takes aim at the Ultraviolette F77 electric bike stands in the same segment of premium, sporty electric bike segment. While the Mantis EV has been strategically priced slightly lower at Rs 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom), the pricing of the Ultraviolette F77 range in the bracket of Rs 3.80 lakh to Rs 5.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
In terms of specifications, the Ultraviolette F77 comes in two variants F77 and the higher-spec F77 Recon. The higher trim makes 95 Nm of peak torque and 38.9 hp of max power. The bike promises industry-leading 307 km IDC range and gets three riding modes - Glide, Combat and Ballistic. It is capable of delivering 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 7.8 seconds with a top speed of 152 km/h. Needless to point out, it is faster than the Mantis and also has a longer range.
