Bengaluru: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the garden city as heavy rains lashed Bangalore on Sunday. This downpour resulted in the breaking of around 10 trees and waterlogging on several roads. As per the forecast, this rainfall spell won’t see a break before May 23, and even after that, it suggests the possibility of rain and thunderstorms.
As much as this spell of rain has brought relief from the scorching heat India’s Silicon Valley was sweating under, it has also posed a difficulty for commuters. As per a TOI report, vehicles faced delays at different spots, such as the Hennur-Bagalur road, because of waterlogging on Sunday.

What Will Bangalore’s Weather Be Like For Next 7 Days?

The weather forecast for the upcoming week predicts cloudy skies with rain or thundershowers from May 20 to May 23, with temperatures ranging from 22 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius. On May 24 and 25, the sky is expected to be partly cloudy with a possibility of rain or thunderstorms, maintaining temperatures between 23 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius.

According to officials from the meteorological department, Bengaluru city received 8.4mm of rain until 5.30pm on Sunday, while the HAL airport area received 22.6mm of rain. The IMD predicts light-to-moderate rain and thundershowers, along with winds, in many areas over Bagalkot, Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Chikkaballapura, and other districts on Monday.
