Delhi Weather: Rain Lashes Parts Of City, More Shower Predicted? Check Forecast
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted on Saturday that there will be scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi, along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.

New Delhi: Rain lashed parts of the national capital on Sunday morning. Several areas including Mandi House, RK Puram, Indraprastha, Kartavya Path and Central Delhi experienced heavy rain. The weather department has predicted generally cloudy sky light rain or thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds for Delhi on Sunday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted on Saturday that there will be scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi, along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.
"Severe Weather Observed over Northwest India during 0830 hrs IST to 2030 hrs IST of yesterday, the 02nd March 2024," IMD posted on platform X.
Weather Forecast
Delhi will experience generally cloudy sky light rain or thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds on Sunday as per weather agency. The capital city is anticipated to witness partly cloudy sky in the upcoming week.
Western Disturbance
The IMD reported that a weather disturbance known as a cyclonic circulation is present over northern Afghanistan and nearby areas. Additionally, there is a trough extending from this circulation to the Northwest Arabian Sea at lower and middle atmospheric levels. The IMD also mentioned that there is significant moisture being carried from the Arabian Sea to northwest India, which is expected to persist until March 3rd.
Hailstorm Warning
The IMD issued warnings of hailstorm activity at isolated places in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan and East Uttar Pradesh on March 2.
