Heavy security has been deployed in Saran

Saran: Violence broke out in Saran in Bihar, a day after voting was held in the constituency in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 20. One person was killed and three others sustained injuries in the incident that sparked tensions in the area.
An altercation broke out between two groups in the Bada Telma area near Bhikhari Thakur Chowk on Tuesday. The altercation between supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) broke out over allegations of irregularities during polling that happened on Monday in the area, amid which shots were fired.
The deceased was identified as 25-year-old Chandan Yadav. The injured persons have been admitted to hospital for treatment.
"The injured persons were admitted to the nearest hospital. Later, two of them were sent to Patna for better treatment," Superintendent of Police Gaurav Mangla said.
"A case has been registered and an investigation is underway. Three persons have been arrested in connection with today's incident," he said.
Meanwhile, police personnel have been deployed in the area and cops held a flag march in Chapra, Saran district, after the firing incident at a polling booth.

Internet Suspended

Two people have been detained in connection with the violence and the internet has been suspended for two days.
Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said, “Two people have been arrested and the other two are absconding. I have been assured that they will be arrested soon. Some people end up doing such things because of the fear of losing. Such incidents should not take place during elections.”
RJD leader and party candidate from Saran Lok Sabha seat Rohini Acharya says, "BJP are scared. Democracy is being murdered...FIR should be filed against BJP goons. We demand from the administration that all these goons should be caught and put in jail...As a candidate, we have the right to go to every booth... I had gone there to see the polling. BJP goons were sitting inside...I was abused...I was attacked with intent to kill...Who gave them this right...These people have resorted to hooliganism."
Saran constituency went to polls on May 20 in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections. RJD president Lalu Prasad's daughter Rohini Acharya is the Mahagathbandhan candidate in Saran against BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy. The counting of votes will be done on June 4
