'Every Voice Matters': PM Modi's Vote In 'Record Numbers' Request To Voters As Lok Sabha Polls Begin

Voting for the 102 parliamentary seats across 21 states and Union Territories has begun along with polling for state assemblies of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Sikkim has 32 assembly seats while Arunachal is voting for 60 assembly constituencies.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged the voters to exercise their franchise on the first phase of Lok Sabha elections on Friday. He requested the young voters to come out in large numbers and vote.
"The 2024 Lok Sabha elections commence today! As 102 seats across 21 States and UTs go to the polls, I urge all those voting in these seats to exercise their franchise in record numbers. I particularly call upon the young and first time voters to vote in large numbers. After all, every vote counts and every voice matters! "the PM said in a post on X.
Voting for the 102 parliamentary seats across 21 states and Union Territories has begun along with polling for state assemblies of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Sikkim has 32 assembly seats while Arunachal is voting for 60 assembly constituencies.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took to X and explained the importance of day in an special appeal to first-time voters.
"It is an important day today, as the first phase of voting is taking place in the country. I appeal to all the voters who are voting in this phase to vote in large numbers because every vote of yours has the power to create a secure, developed, and self-reliant India," the Home Minister said.
"Your vote is not only meant to determine the fate of a Lok Sabha or a candidate but also to shape a bright future for India. My appeal is to choose a strong and decisive leadership that has shown the determination to free the country from corruption, nepotism, and appeasement while fulfilling its promises," he added.
Shah asked the citizens to form a government that has not only accelerated development but also ensured infallible security along borders, provided health, housing, electricity, and gas facilities to every poor person, and preserved, promoted, and nurtured India's culture and cultural symbols.
In a message to the first-time voters, he said, "On the voting day, I appeal to all our first-time voters to turn out in large numbers and actively participate in the polling process. Let the power of your vote elect a government that will provide you with world-class education and opportunities to shape a better future. Also, inspire your friends, family members, and relatives to actively participate in voting."
